The Press
The mainstream press gives way too much coverage to wingnuts. They put them on the air or give them inches in print every time they throw a tantrum. If they would ignore them, they’d go away.
So, mainstream press, your job is to report. Taking dictation from wingnuts and publishing it isn’t reporting. That requires getting the facts. Yeh, I know, that would take some work. But that’s your job. It’s what you’re getting paid to do.
While I’m at it: the press is NOT liberal. Facts are NOT liberal. They’re just facts. You know, those things you’re supposed to be reporting.

I am not sure about your position on Wingnuts because one man’s wingnut is another man’s guru. I canceled my subscription because the papers stopped reporting the news and decided to manage the news. As a result, the content is more propaganda than enlightenment.
The press should be able to discern that a wingnut is someone who doesn’t have a firm grasp of the facts; who isn’t interested in facts, just ideology. I agree with MsTibbs that the press’s job is to determine the facts and report them; not just give attention to “wingnuts.”
For example, the number eight is a “fact” but it means little out of context and the wingnut is expressing his opinion re how it fits in context. Of course, there are diverse opinions on every subject and we tend to label people who do not agree with our point of view.
The press is all about making a “fight” out of things, making big dramaz for big ratings. It’s stupid. We don’t put neo-nazi’s on TV and listen to what they think, why are the mainstream news putting stupid people with Obama-Hitler posters on TV. I mean seriously, comparing the annihilation of millions of jews to healthcare? When their editors decided this was a story and ran with it, they just enabled these ignorant people. Shame on them.
